The Office of Workforce Development and Educational Services is responsible for the following district
wide activities:
CURRICULUM
Coordinating the planning,
development, implementation and evaluation of academic and vocational
education programs for the District. The Vice Chancellor works
closely with the campus curriculum committees in the development
and revision of individual courses and programs, and facilitates
the district wide Educational Coordinating and Planning Committee,
which reviews and discusses the implication of the curriculum
being presented prior to submitting the curriculum proposals
to the Board of Trustees for approval. Another vital element
involving curriculum is to continuously monitor and update the
district wide common course list and articulated course list.
WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
Provide leadership and support for District occupational and workforce preparation programs and K-university partnerships. Serve as a liaison with the business community.
TECHNOLOGY
Provide leadership in areas related to technology, including infrastructure, equipment needs, distance education and staff training. Chair the district wide Technology Coordination Committee and assist in developing/updating the District’s technology plan. Supervise Information Systems Department.
ADMISSIONS & RECORDS
Supervise Admissions & Records. Provide leadership for Registration Coordination Committee and Enrollment Management Committee.
DATA REPORTING & INSTITUTIONAL RESEARCH
Provide overall leadership for MIS (Management Information Systems) reporting, (ARCC) Accountability Reporting for Community Colleges and institutional research. Analyze information for projecting long-range program needs and identify program implications.
STRATEGIC PLANNING
Provide leadership and facilitate development of a district strategic plan, oversee implementation and monitor progress in meeting its goals.
GRANTS
Oversee the activities and services of the Grants Office, including information about grant opportunities, guidance for grant proposal writing, monitoring of technical requirements and grant writing workshops.
INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION
Providing overall leadership in
the area of international education, including international
student programs, study abroad programs, faculty development,
University Center Export Program/Center for International Trade
Development, and coordination of District representation nationally
and internationally.

STATE CENTER CONSORTIUM
/ TECH PREP
Provide leadership to the Consortium, which partners with K-12 school districts, the Fresno County Office of Education and higher education institutions. Assist in the continued development of 2+2 agreements. For more information about the

VOCATIONAL TECHNICAL
EDUCATION ACT (VTEA) / PERKINS GRANT
Oversee the allocation of federal Carl Perkins Act funds, grant implementation, and reporting.
VIRTUAL OFFICE OF INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION
The mission of the Virtual Office of International Education (VOIE) is to consolidate all international education and training, programs and services, both within the college and available to the broader community. The VOIE will extend and enhance the global awareness and global competency of faculty, students and the citizenry of the greater San Joaquin Valley by reorganizing and consolidating the education and training programs and services of SCCCD's international iniatives. Included on this site are samples of faculty training, applications for faculty, resources for curriculum and international training opportunities for staff and faculty. This project is funded in part by U. S. Department of Education, International Programs, Title VIB.
21ST ANNUAL NASBITE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
The 21st Annual NASBITE International Conference will convene at the DoubleTree Hotel Crystal City-National Airport (Washington D.C.), on March 6 - 8, 2008. This year’s conference theme “Linking Ambassadors of Trade” is sure to attract the high take-away value that NASBITE International conference attendees have come to know.
