A Vision with Values

Inclusiveness. Excellence. Accountability. Integrity. Continuous Improvement. Participation. Stewardship. Collaboration. These are the core values that State Center Community College District fosters, develops and instills. As the District responds to the changing demographics and extreme growth of our region, we will hold these values dear and be certain to align our strategy, and the implementation of our strategy, to their merits.

This past year, a District-wide steering committee looked closely at the existing and future challenges the District faces and created this “value-based” strategic plan. The strategic plan states that the District will align its goals, tactics and activities with its mission, vision and core values. We have discovered that the District faces some interesting challenges, most of which are inherent with our growth. Namely, the need for SCCCD to remain in touch with our students, continuing to provide them the services, skills and education they require to succeed in today’s job market, and the job market of the future. In addition, we will continue to strengthen our collaboration with our alumni and our business community; and increase our focus on job readiness, the diversity of our region, and the technological advances of our world.
